Abstract

|
A case of essential thrombocythemia (35 year-old, female) with the Philadelphia
chromosome is presented and the literature reviewed briefly.
The platelet count was 3×106/u1, karyotype of the bone marrow cells
46XX Ph', and platelet aggregomtry showed impaired reaction to ADP, collagen and
epinephrine.
The platelet count had been successfully controlled with therapeutic plateletpheresis
(11 times × 6 cycles) combined with chemotherapy.
